East Down Champions!

Scór na nÓg East Down final was on Sunday night past, with a packed hall in Dundrum enjoying a great night’s entertainment. With three acts competing it was going to be a tough task to make it through with the competition being so fierce, but the night ended with two East Down champions and a runner’s up spot. Erin Sands took the solo singing crown and was also part of the winning ballad group along with Eimear Robinson, Roise Byrne, Niamh McCullough and Eimear Taggart. The girls sang beautifully and you could have heard a pin drop during their performance. The Leiriu took second place in their section as they pulled out all the stops and had Jedward had the audience in stitches once again. Onwards we go to the county final in Castlewellan in a fortnight’s time. Maith sibh to all the team.

Juvenile Presentation

The end of season celebration for our juveniles will start at 2pm this Saturday 18th of November. Weather permitting, we’ll have football for all followed by a short presentation and refreshments in the club. All children who played or came along to any of our sessions during the year past are welcome with their parents and it promises to be a great end to the year.

Annual General Meeting preparations begin

This Sunday 19th is an important date for our club as we prepare for the upcoming Annual General Meeting. This will be our first ever pre-AGM and we want as many people from the local community to come along to the clubhouse at 1pm to help us get ready for 2018 and beyond. This is a get together to help us get ready for the annual general meeting in a less formal setting. You don’t have to be a member, just come along and help us with ideas for the future and perhaps you might even see an opportunity to get involved in some capacity as we move forward together. Everyone welcome. Ar aghaidh le chéile!

Annual General Meeting is on Sunday 10th December at 4pm in the club.
